Setbacks can get the best of us…if we let em.
Here is Professor Dweck’s take on this…
“How do you act when you feel depressed? Do you work harder at things in your life or do you let them go? Next time you feel low, put yourself in a growth mindset—think about learning, challenging, confronting obstacles. Think about effort as a positive, constructive force, not as a big drag. Try it out.”
Willing to take the challenge?
What could you do instead of retreating during a difficult time?
break em down into super easy micro steps if you have to.
Step 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 = possibilities.
What if the steps feel too big?
That’s alright…break in down even more.
Step 0.25 + 0.5 + 0.75 + 1 + more of that = possibilities.
It’s not the size of the step, it’s the fact that you take em consistently.
Even through setbacks you can mini step it.
p.s. you never need to go it alone completely. Recruit a friend or family member in your corner to be there between rounds. It could help.
