'Core' Work

I was leaving work one day and a close colleague of mine was leaving at the same time. As we were walking down the stairs I noticed he was munching an apple and had literally eaten it to the core!
I jokingly said to him...
“I see today you’re doing core work today”!
We often banter and I had to milk it…
“So Tuesdays is when you work your core?!”
We had a good laugh and yet underneath that we both know and seek to demonstrate that:
EVERY DAY IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CORE WORK.
To return to a very useful concept you could liken core work to Deep Work.
DEEP WORK = TIME X INTENSITY (OF FOCUS) (Cal Newport).
Consider an ‘apple’ you’ve got for today in your studies or other life areas that requires core work.
What is it + how much time + focus would it require today?
How many bites is it going to take to get it down to its core?
For example, it could be 4 x 15 minute timed sessions to complete a study session or 1 x 90 minute deep work session with a 5 minute break at the half way mark.
Whatever the apple and regardless of how many bites it might take to get to the core…you can get there, one bite at a time.

p.s. Core work need not only happen on Tuesdays nor should it.
